DESCRIPTION:Junior Firefighter Camp\n\n\nHas your child ever wondered what it’s like to be a firefighter? Our Junior Firefighter Camp gives kids ages 7-12 the opportunity to learn basic fire fighting\, fire prevention\, safety\, first aid\, and so much more! What makes this camp even better? Proceeds benefit the Van Zandt First Responders Fund\, a nonprofit created by Silver Spur Resort.\n\n\nDate: June 26th \nDetails: This is a one-day camp from 9:00 am-2:00 pm for kids ages 7-12. \nYour child will review stop\, drop\, and roll\, water safety in the pool\, building a safe fire and putting out fires\, some search and rescue\, basic first aid\, learn about tools and gear on the truck\, team-building exercises\, and other fun learning games. \nLunch and drinks are provided. Due to the nature of this camp\, we will require a minimum of 10 and a maximum of 20 kids. Please have your child wear shorts or jeans and tennis shoes. Bring leather gloves\, knee pads\, a swimsuit\, a towel\, goggles\, and sunscreen. Campers will meet in the Barn upon arrival. \nRegistration closes June 23rd. To request a cancellation\, please notify us by June 23rd for a full refund. Have SMOKIN’ BBQ skills that can’t be beaten? Or maybe you are just looking for a fun and friendly competition for a GREAT cause! We have the perfect event for you…Register for Silver Spur Resort’s Smoke & Guns Cook-Off\, an IBCA-sanctioned event on September 12-13th! For official rules\, visit ibcabbq.org. \n \nCook-off Details\nThe entry fee is $200 with  80% Payout\, 50% 1st Place Jackpots\, and 20% donated to the Van Zandt First Responders Fund. Optional add-ons include Steak & Burnt Ends for an additional $30 each (one winner per category). Trophies will be awarded to winners at the conclusion of the BBQ Smoke-off on Saturday\, inside The Barn. See the schedule of turn-in times listed below. \nThe entry fee includes a parking spot with no water/electricity. Full hookup RV sites and cabins are available for an additional fee.
