A: This nonprofit corporation has been established to meet the unexpected needs of the first responder community in Van Zandt County.

A: The needs range from unfunded equipment necessary for the duties of First Responders to the support of families of first responders.

A: The Fund is managed by members of the Silver Spur Resort staff as well as active and retired first responders from within Van Zandt County.
Q: How do we raise money?
A: The Silver Spur Resort hosts several community events throughout the year to raise money for this fund. One of our biggest fundraisers is our First Responders Day Celebration. This family-friendly day is full of fun and learning as First Responders of Van Zandt County show off their skills. Meet other families in the community and enjoy demonstrations and activities sure to interest all ages.
Other fundraising events include our annual Mommy & Me and Daddy & Me dances, BBQ competitions, and Jr. Firefighter summer camp.
