So much activity; come along for a tour.

Late Winter has been a time for maintenance, planning, strategic business moves, and of course, satisfying our guests. Late Fall and Winter have also exposed The Resort to a host of new lodging guests at the B&B and cabins along with hundreds of people who attended events in our Barn.

First Bridal Open House:

Polar Express and Visit with Santa- Canton High School Prom Fundraiser:

South Van Zandt Fire Department Banquet:

On the development side we have been busy planning for the upcoming year and completing important site improvements. The rains in January and February stopped our progress as was to be expected but we are back at work now that the sun is shining. Here are a few improvements we accomplished before Mother Nature had her say:

A secondary pond was dug to expand our water activities, grading for building pads and Phase l roads were completed and road base was installed to provide continuous access to our cabins, new trees and shrubs were planted (a continuous process as we expand), and existing trees and treelines were trimmed and cleared to give the Resort a more manicured feel. Anyone who has driven by during the last month will have noticed our newest addition; our first Tiny House.

Tiny Houses at the Resort:

Our first Tiny house is a 24′ model which turned out as cute as can be! Built onsite this model has a sleeping loft with Queen mattress, a bathroom with roomy 36″ shower, a kitchenette with breakfast area, and a living area with Full size convertible couch. Plenty of nooks and crannies will make this Tiny House a great addition to our lodging choices.

This model will be placed along with our existing cabins and will have a deck, shade structure, and landscaping surrounding. Full foam insulation, LED lighting, whitewashed pine T&G paneling, and other numerous features will make this a unique lodging experience for couples or families.

The Tiny House will be available for booking within the next 2 weeks and will also be used as a model home for people interested in the Tiny House lifestyle. That’s right, you can place your order here and we will custom build one just for you at a competitive price. Our model will be in place and furnished by the April Trades Days so come by and take a look.

Current Construction Projects:

This week we are breaking ground on our Lodge and another cabin. The Lodge will be our main office, General Store, and the registration building for our KOA campground coming later in 2018. As campground opening nears we will complete the laundry and shower portions of the building but for now we will focus primarily on office and store areas.

The cabin is of the same design as the Coop and will be completed and ready for booking by mid April. This model has a separate bedroom with a queen bed, a full bath, kitchenette and breakfast nook, living area with a queen convertible sofa, and a nice deck with lattice shade cover. As this cabin nears completion we will begin construction of our final 2 cabins finishing the development of our deluxe cabin area.

In approximately two weeks we will break ground on our activities room, and the mystery building I teased last year. When the Lodge, cabin, and these two building are complete, and Mother Nature provides suitable weather, we will continue the paving of roads and parking areas and landscaping for this portion of Phase l. This will allow full access to all lodging and entertainment plus provide a completed look prior to our busy wedding and event season at the Barn.

Upcoming Projects:

By early April construction will have started on The Que & Brew Restaurant and our smokehouse. Final changes to the design, equipment choices, and most importantly, the menu are being finalized now and we cannot wait to share this dining experience with Canton locals and all Resort guests. We plan to hit all of your senses so be prepared!

As the Restaurant construction winds down we will then construct our secured public storage and RV storage area along with a manufacturing area specifically for our Tiny Houses.

Finally, in mid-Summer, development of the Campground will commence, and depending on weather conditions we will open this final phase of the Resort in Fall of 2018. The KOA of Canton will open as a resort level campground, one of only a few resort level locations within the KOA system.

The Barn update:

Event bookings at the Barn have kicked into high gear due to participation with TheKnot.com bridal website and local area bridal shows. 2018 premium dates are filling rapidly and we are booking 2019 dates as well. Please contact Misty, our wedding coordinator, to reserve your date and avoid disappointment.

Along with weddings and other events booked at the Barn, the Resort has its own events scheduled for the upcoming months. By early April a calendar of events will be posted on the website.

Thanks for following our progress. Connect with us on Facebook and Instagram for news, events, photos, and more!
