2022 Word of the Year: Experience
2021 was weird. We entered the new year not fully knowing what to expect. Our team felt optimistic yet cautious after a year like 2020. Things were looking up. Couples were ready to plan their wedding once again, people were celebrating birthdays and babies and graduations, and families were anxious to get out there and travel.
Camping became popular among first-timers and we loved seeing folks thrive spending time in the great outdoors. Glamping in our Conestoga Wagons was a hit, and families enjoyed feeling as if they had stepped back into the Old West.
It felt like time slowed down and we had the chance to really enjoy so many special moments…Meeting new people from all over the country as they traveled through our town. Listening to their stories of adventure then browsing through photos and making mental notes of places we would love to visit soon. Watching a young couple get married and enjoy the wedding of their dreams right outside the Barn, and feeling so happy that we could be part of their special day.
Those special little moments reminded us of how truly lucky we are to be in the business of helping people create wonderful experiences, shared with the ones they love.
The year didn’t come without challenges, however, and like many small businesses, we struggled with labor shortages at times, and price increases to food & supplies. New projects were put on hold so we could ride each small wave that came at us, and plans were temporarily moved down the to-do list. After a year like 2020, we felt like we had finally mastered the art of “pivoting”.
Luckily, we have the most wonderful guests and you have all been so patient and understanding while we navigated our way through these temporary hurdles. Thank you!
Goodbye 2021, Hello 2022!
Do you make New Year’s resolutions or do you have a personal word of the year?
Many people declare a meaningful ‘word of the year’ as an alternative to resolutions so they can focus on a positive intention or improve personal values.
As we sat down to reflect on 2021, and look forward to new beginnings in 2022, the word “experience” came to mind.
You see, Silver Spur Resort was designed to bring people together. Whether it be a family dinner, weekend getaway, wedding, or other special celebration, we want you to feel excited to be here and proud to share those experiences at Silver Spur.
The resort was intentionally pieced together so that friends and family could enjoy their time with one another in the best possible way. We wanted to help people create memories to last a lifetime. And to do that, we knew we had to be different. We had to create a special place that felt like home, while simultaneously feeling a world away. We had to be more than just an RV park. More than just a wedding venue. We had to create an EXPERIENCE.

Your experience starts with our team. Our tight-knit staff is dedicated to providing an unparalleled guest experience to everyone who walks through our doors. Their goal? To give a warm, friendly, and personalized experience to every guest, whether they’re at the Silver Spur Resort for a day or a week, whether it’s their first time or tenth time visiting us.
The Silver Spur experience continues throughout your visit, whether you are staying at our KOA campground, planning a party, or just spending the day having lunch with friends. We want to go above and beyond to impress you, whether it’s an extra comfy bed in our cabins, delivering food to your campsite, or providing the cleanest bathrooms you’ve ever seen at a campground, our team is here to make it happen!
As we revisit our “to-do” list, we are so excited to share a few new ways we can add to your Silver Spur experience in 2022!
Campground & Lodging
Guests love that they can park here once and not leave all week if they don’t have to! You call it convenient, we call it “Ranch Life with a Luxury Flair!”. We want our resort campground to be a little “extra”. That’s why focusing on options and guest amenities is so important to us.
When you stay here, you’ll have the option to choose from our KOA campground and cabins, glamping options, or even a large ranch house! We want you to enjoy your time here in whatever way you are most comfortable!
To expand on glamping options, we are adding a Treehouse village to our campground with the first Treehouse available to book in February 2022! We are also expanding our campground with more RV sites and continuing improvements to our roads and infrastructure.
Amenities
Another focus in 2022 will be adding campground amenities to enhance the guest experience, including working on a solution to our wifi. Unfortunately, our location prevents us from having high-speed internet 24/7 (especially over First Monday weekends). We understand there is a need and we are diligently working on the best solution possible! Other family-friendly amenities on the way include mini-golf, a volleyball court, and other fun things to do while you enjoy your stay at Silver Spur Resort.
Q & Brew
Part of the Silver Spur experience is having our very own brewpub right on-site, something guests love! No need to leave the resort for lunch or dinner options- we have a full menu of BBQ, burgers, sandwiches, and more, paired with craft beer brewed right here at the resort! The Q & Brew is open to the public, but guests also appreciate the convenience of our dine-in, takeout, and catering services! We’ll even deliver right to your campsite or cabin!
Have you tried the new monthly specials we introduced in November? It was our goal to share our favorite comfort foods with you while adding fresh new flavors to our menu! But there’s more! Coming in 2022…watch for exciting new dining options outside of the Q & Brew restaurant. We are taking your experience to the next level!
Website Updates
One important change we made to our current website was the addition of our new 360 Virtual Tours!
Photos help A LOT when deciding where to book accommodations on your next trip or weekend getaway! But there’s nothing like a virtual tour that makes you feel as if you are ACTUALLY walking around our cute cozy cabins.
And for those who are looking to try something new…a tiny house or Conestoga Wagon experience is definitely something to look forward to, but hard to visualize how much space you really have!
We wanted to make it easier for guests to explore our lodging options and see EXACTLY what our cabins, tiny homes, and wagons look like on the inside. Head on over to the website and let us know what you think!
