2 Years Stronger: The Q & Brew’s Dynamic Post-Fire Transformation
It’s hard to believe that it has already been 2 YEARS since the Q & Brew suffered a devastating fire.
We remember that day so clearly. Not just because of the immense loss, but also because of the rally of support from you, our Canton community.
The initial shock of the fire was made worse knowing that we had so many exciting plans ahead of us. We were getting ready to open our patio, just in time for the fall season, among other exciting projects to revamp our menu.
However, timing was on our side. Our biggest blessing was the restaurant was closed that day and there were no injuries to staff or guests.
The outpouring of love and support from the community during this time, and the resilience of our dedicated team, kept us going! We made plans to rebuild and got creative in the meantime…
Quickly Moving Forward During the Re-Build
The smokehouse was untouched and the brewery was back in business fairly quickly. We continued serving Q & Brew craft beer at First Monday Trade Days, and simple BBQ out of our Smokehouse for campground guests and locals alike. Our catering services continued as planned with the help of Big Blue, our temporary food truck.
You, our community, encouraged us with every kind comment, the simple sharing of a social media post, and showing up to grab a beer at Trade Days, then letting others know where to find us.
Emerging Better Than Ever, 2 Years After the Fire

Opened our Covered Outdoor Patio
This was a big one for us! Our patio allows us to expand our restaurant seating, offer live music nights, and a casual place to hang out with family and friends. It offers a place to slow down, take your time, play a game, and let the kids get up and move around, while you enjoy that well-deserved craft beer.
The Q & Brew’s patio also gives extra space to host private parties at the restaurant. If Stagecoach Hall is booked, or just not the right venue for the occasion, we take advanced reservations on the patio to cater birthday dinners, team parties, and other group dining experiences.
Our event calendar is continuously updated throughout the year with live music from local talent entertaining on the Q & Brew patio on First Monday weekends, and Saturday nights from Fall through Spring.
Added a Full Bar Inside the Q & Brew
In addition to brewing craft beer onsite and offering local Texas wines, we now offer a wide selection of your favorite liquors, popular mixed drinks, and hand-crafted cocktails. Sometimes you just want to sit at a bar and grab a drink after a long day! Re-building the Q & Brew allowed us to design a space with great seating and a better bar to support our expanded alcohol offerings and collaborations with local businesses, like Herman Marshall Whiskey!
Freshened Up our Menu
Serving high quality, craft BBQ is our mission and it was time to embrace innovation and let our creative juices flow! We kept our traditional BBQ staples with slow-smoked meats from our Smokehouse as the base of our menu while adding exciting new specials fusing authentic BBQ with cultural influences to create flavorful new dishes not typically seen at a BBQ joint.
You may have also noticed a delicious upgrade to our burgers and steaks! The Q & Brew is proudly serving locally raised Black Angus beef patties and ribeyes from Gabriel Ranch Premium Beef! Supporting local ranchers like Gabriel Ranch is important to us because we believe in sourcing the freshest, most flavorful ingredients while also supporting our community.
Upgraded our Service and Consistency
This was another big one for us! Your time is precious. We want you to spend more time enjoying, and less time waiting. We are focused on delivering shorter ticket times without compromising quality. Offering better presentation, while remaining consistent. The goal is for our guests to leave here confident they can recommend us to a friend and they will receive the same high quality and service, every time.
New Desserts Made With Love (From Scratch!)
Each time you visit, we want it to feel both familiar AND new & exciting all wrapped up into one delicious dining experience. Our resident baker, Abby, is a Canton local fondly known as The Kneady Woman. She has brought our dessert offerings to the next level as she dreams up the most delectable sweet treats to add to our menu.
In addition to rotating dessert specials, advanced orders for cinnamon rolls, pies, cookie trays, and other dessert catering can now be ordered from the Q & Brew!
Added Axe-Throwing: Let the Good Times Fly!
What could be better than combining cold beer with throwing axes?! Axe throwing was on our project to-do list for some time and with the expansion of the Q & Brew patio, it just made sense to add it on behind the brewery. We love a good game around here, and axe throwing is the perfect opportunity for a little friendly competition among friends. Our team at the Q & Brew handles reservations and drop-ins are always welcome based on availability.
Leveled Up Q & Brew Catering
The Q & Brew has offered catering services for the East Texas area since opening in 2019. However, our catering menu has evolved!
We kept crowd favorites on the menu, like the Potato Bar, and Fajitas Buffet which large groups staying at Canton KOA especially love, and the Cowboy Feast BBQ Buffet, a popular catering request for weddings at The Barn.
NOW, we have added the flexibility of special requests to our catering menu! Every event is unique and it was important to us that we adapt to the needs and requests of our customers. Feeling fancy or feeding a group with special diets? Let’s explore off-menu items together!
